What to expect?

This two day discussion invites family law professionals
of every stripe to conceptualize family dynamics,
the best interests standard, and professional practice
in terms of systems, structures, and anxiety management.

Forensic relationship interventions
(e.g., court-involved therapies, co-parent counseling)
court-ordered evaluations
(e.g., parenting plan evaluation, parent capacity evaluation)
and the way that we conduct ourselves professionally
all benefit from creating and communicating
authoritative limits, boundaries, roles, and routines.

Mandatory Conflicts Disclosure:
  1. I am being paid to conduct this training. I am therefore motivated to entertain, engage, and enlighten you. I may laugh at jokes that aren’t funny and ask that you do the same in return.
  2. I am the author of a number of books and articles referenced throughout this weekend. I earn the equivalent of a cup of coffee from Starbucks for every 7 books sold. I do not earn money when you download articles I’ve written (although my publishers may).
  3. I am the owner and director of DEFUSEdivorce.com. In theory this business earns money. In reality, I would love to share its accumulated costs with you.
  4. I make money working in the courts on behalf of children. I am therefore motivated to impress you so that you’ll refer to me (even though I live and work 1195.8 miles away)
  5. Everything that I do, I do for children. My investment in children’s well-being and the future of the species can create conflicts with people and agencies that do not share this motivation on occasion.
